Park Grove Design is honoured to begin work on the renovation of the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary (MTI) at The Royal Chelsea Hospital for the benefit of the Chelsea Pensioners.

Founded by King Charles II and designed by Sir Christopher Wren over 325 years ago for the care of army veterans, The Royal Chelsea Hospital is a beautiful heritage building steeped in history, situated in the prestigious Chelsea Borough of London.

The MTI was originally opened in March 2009 bringing state of the art care facilities to the Pensioners, whilst fully integrating with the site’s rich heritage.

Park Grove has been appointed to enhance the communal spaces, long wards and clinical areas incorporating contemporary touches to lighting, furniture, wall and floor finishes that complement the grand 17th century heritage, and to bring a more intimate, homely feel to the care environment.
