A highlight of working in the design industry is the opportunity to attend foreign trade shows. It is important for design practices to keep up to date with the latest innovations, products and trends in property design. Trade shows offer the opportunity to source new suppliers for future residential development, care home and hotel projects, as well as network with industry professionals.

This year, designers Kate Dennison and Carly Gordon attended the Abitare il Tempo show in the beautiful city of Verona. Divided into three sections – Furnishing Solutions, Interior Finishing and Interior Décor, the show had a relaxed feel spread across four spacious halls.  The layout and design of the show was very different to that of UK shows such as Decorex and 100% Design. Exhibitor’s stand design was conceptual with an artistic approach, creating an exciting experience for the visitor. The show also had art installations scattered across the four halls, as well as industry workshops, debates and seminars.

The team’s favourite pieces from the show were the breath-taking light fittings from various Italian suppliers.  These elaborate chandeliers would be the perfect finishing touch to a staircase in a high-end property development or grand residential interior.

The Park Grove designers were also excited by the number of quirky and individual products on show. It was the perfect opportunity to source our ‘magic pieces’; one off furniture items and accessories for our unique bedroom schemes.
