04. Spotting design trends

Many professional trend forecasters attend electronic shows as a ‘predictor’ of what is likely to happen in other visual markets.  Justine Fox, Production Manager of Mix Trends, and Global Colour Trends forecasting says…“Electronics is one of the first places that trends hit because it’s youth-driven.  So they’re the ones which take up these trends first.” 

So if you want your room design to be forward-thinking you may wish to get consumer electronics magazines rather than design glossies as technology trends run some 3-4 years ahead of other sectors.
